Which CMS? Or Wiki? Or image gallery?

Oooookay. Joomla didn't seem to be in the list.

There's another one, not obvious, I've only just found it. I'm talking to the author about it as it's supposedly fully accessible.

I'm trying to get my mitts on a trial, if I can I'll let any accessibility aficionados have a go with it.

OK, Joomla is now in the list. Either the page hadn't loaded right, they were updating the site or the pint and a half of Baileys I just finished is having an effect. [:D]

Joomla's there. I couldn't find it at first either. It's about half way down the portals list.

Must be the Baileys. Could have sworn I posted that. [8|]

I don't think I've had enough Baileys yet! [:D]

I just loaded Joomla up and started experimenting with it. Seems like its very extensable.

I don't have anything to compare it to as Joomla is my only experiance with any CMS.

It's horses for courses. If you want a blog go with Word Press. If you want a full site with added oomph go with Joomla. They all have their pros and cons. I was reading a very good use for Drupal yesterday but I can't remember what it was. [:)]

I recently tried Joomla, and found it interesting - at least while setting it up. After setup I encountered a Login problem, and it turned out it's a known bug that occurs on Windows servers. There is a fix for it on the Joomla forum - you need to change the code in one of the modules.

It looks like Joomla is mostly tested/installed on non-Windows and since I just want something that works I decided to let go of Joomla and hope I'll find something that works better for me.

ContentSeed -> RE: Which CMS? (12/25/2006 9:28:51)

there was a great ASP/Access portal called "AspPortal", it's since changed hands but it should still be good if it's based off the original.

also, a friend from the FrontPage newsgroup loves this one:

If you like that one you should have a look at Mambo:

I have been using TextPattern on a couple recent sites. It suits my needs, so I haven't tried Joomla yet.

jaybee -> RE: Which CMS? (12/25/2006 13:45:04)

Mambo and Joomla are very similar. I've only ever installed them on Unix though so can't speak for Windows problems.

CelticDragon -> RE: Which CMS? (1/3/2007 11:44:04)

I started using Joomla (well I started with Mambo but got bored because I didnt pick it up within 5 minutes - Iḿ patient like that!) for a while now and have a few sites done with it!

I started sniffing around when I heard that frontpage extensions were not being supported anymore so I felt I better see what else is out there and I have to say I find Joomla to be the business! Very easy to use and really scalable!
