I've used the screen capture software PrintKey to make snapshots of avi movies several times. It works great. The current "Pro" version is $19.95 and can be purchased from the author at http://www.geocities.com/~gigaman/.

I still use the old freeware version (PrintKey 2000 v5.10). I've used it on Win95, Win98 SE, and Win2000 Pro without problems. You can get it at http://www.freewareweb.com/graphics2.html. You can easily save your captures at web resolutions as jpg or gif files. It is very versatile. It may be the best freeware I've ever used.

Regards,
Andrew

I downloaded and installed this program but i am still having difficulty capturing the video. It appears just the same (black) either when i use the print screen on my keyboard or the printkey2000 program. What am i doing wrong? I have a deadline!!!

Thanks

I managed to get a decent capture (i paused the video) but now when i bring it into photoshop i can't crop it properly. It's like the video is on its own layer beneath everything and never resizes.
