keyboard issues - 12/31/2006 7:48:01
I've reformatted a pc and am loading xp pro onto it.

All is ok until i get to a screen where i need to enetr details and nothing on the keyboard works! I've tested the keyboard on another pc and it works fine.

I had to us ethe keyboard to access teh bios in the first place so i know it was being picked up.

Any ideas?

Just went through something similar.

Tech Support solution: (1) Use a corded mouse and (2) a corded keyboard utilizing the PS2 connector. Something to do with USB ports not being recognized by the master boot sector.

Once the machine came up (with the corded mouse/keyboard), a minor BIOS tweak returned normal cordless (and motherboard USB 2.0) operation on cold start.

Hope this helps :)
