OK so maybe the OP added way too many links in too short a time and Google penalised that page.

I think no matter what you say here, your point won't make it across. If people want to think SEO is dead, or that there is no need to hire a guru for SEO, just let them think that.
This thread has completely deviated from its' original topic. If anyone wants to go on about this issue, please make a new thread.
