shopping cart for cars - 1/3/2007 13:24:36
I am considering one of ecommerce templates featured on this site for used cars. No one will actually buy from the site but rather submit contact info as a sales lead for the selected vehicle. I do need the buy button to send a form and additaional images of the same car, possibly a filmstrip scenario. Can these templates be modified to accomodate these options?

Okay. How about we start here; Has anyone used the ecommerce templates?

When you say 'send a form and additional images of the same car', can you explain this? I have seen the ecommerce cart in an 'email only' mode and with some adaptations, I'm confident you can do that (depending of course on your ASP proficiency).

Yes, thank you. I may need additional views of the car being offered, 4 or 5 pics. Possibly install a javascript filmsrip or slideshow kanda thing...? The buy button would be rplaced with a request button to actually bring up a form where the contact info results would be emailed back to the sales person. If a template was created to do this I bet it would be a hot item. Thanx for your reply. Dave.

And then, you essentially could default the Payment dropdown to be 'Email' and make it hidden. At least, that's how I'd approach it. The extra pics are the only 'unknown' in my mind but yes, a JS solution would probably work fine or the code could be adjusted to look into a directory perhaps (instead of for a single image file). Just a few thoughts...

It is one of the programs we sell, if it is something you are interested in, send me a PM or e-mail.
