womble -> PHP and strange Firefox behaviour (1/10/2007 7:08:08)

Most of my sites are done in PHP. I've always been able to view them locally in browsers even with a .php file extension, though obviously without includes or any PHP programming showing up. I have a WAMP server installed on my computer, although I don't tend to use it that much because it means moving stuff into the WAMP root directory. Up until a couple of days ago, I could see the pages in any of the browsers, but now, if I try to open a .php file in Firefox, I get the dialogue box popping up and asking me what I want to do with the file - open it or save it to disk. The default "open with" app it's coming up as ft000001.exe, but even if I change it to Firefox, the same box just comes up again asking me what I want to do with the file. They're still displaying just fine on all the other browsers. I could just rename them all back to .html, but that's a bit of a PITA because as I'm going along I tend to upload to the server into a 'test' directory while I'm working on them, which means renaming them back to .php when I upload them. I suppose it's not a huge drama, but it's just irritating me because I'm used to just being able to check them out locally without all this messing around. Anyone come across anything similar or have any ideas as to what might be causing this or what I can do about it?
