Linda5630 -> contentseed (1/10/2007 13:36:00)

Does anyone have experience with using contentseed software in conjunction with EW? I've seen it recommended for use with FP, but don't see any mention of EW anywhere. I've posed the question to contentseed,com but not heard from them yet, and in any case I would appreciate a response if anyone has tried it.

Thanks. Linda

The short answer to the question is that Content Seed can certainly be used with EW. I would prefer for Chris Leeds (with Content Seed) to answer on the best way to do it, however.

Maybe your email failed to make it through somehow. He's always very good about that kind of thing.

I have sent Chris a personal email about this post. I'm confident he will address this post as soon as he is able.

ContentSeed -> RE: contentseed (1/10/2007 15:10:49)

I've been working on the final release of V3 and decided to use all the Expression Web templates for the demos.

I divided them up into three groups and did .asp in one, .php in the other, and .aspx (asp.net) in the third.

I'm not done with the asp.net demos but http://aspxseeds.com/generator/test demonstrates that the asp.net package works.

I'll paste the links to the packages that I've got done below.

The only thing I don't like about the .css only templates in EW as it relates to ContentSeed is you've got to click a couple of times to set your cursor in the div you want to edit inside of. It's a click for each div.

Bang around on them and you'll see what I mean.

To get a more "normal" feel you can try non-css only templates like www.aspseeds.com/generator/test and www.phpseeds.com/generator/test

Here's the EW templates:

Thanks, Chris - I didn't mean to imply that you were slow to reply - just that I had not yet heard and wanted to check things out from all quarters. Linda

Oh, don't sweat it. I didn't take it that way at all.
I did reply to you today at 2:10 PM. check your spam trap if you want, but it's the same text that i pasted into the post here.

FWIW; I understand the move to css only design like they've done in the EW templates, but i like the "feel" of editing a table based "core" within ContentSeed. Actually I can get the same "feel" but not where there's <div> tags side by side in an attempt to replicate table columns.

Nevertheless, i haven't seen a single template that i couldn't "seed". ;-)

Chris
