nilesh23 -> Hardware issue with laptop screen (1/14/2007 0:56:54)

hi guys.
I am using toshiba satellite M35X from about 1.5 yrs now. Now for the first time am facing a problem with my system. When i turn my laptop on, the screen doesnt show anything though i hear the regular sound of system starting up. So i shut it down simply by pressing the on but on for 10-12 secs and then it goes off. Then in 2 or 3rd attempt the screen shows up normally. I was not sure why this problem was, so I formatted my laptop, but the problem persists.
I am not a tech guy, but was wondering what might have gone wrong and what should i do to repair it.
I really appreaciate your help.
