Review Revised Site - 1/16/2007 15:21:23
I've revised my site: www.sunembroideryscreenprinting.com (originally from template). This is the first time I've had a shopping cart. Previously, this was just an informatal site. I would like to do business off my site, especially in my local area. The shopping cart is provided by one of my vendors ( I'm able to make some adjustments) so I can't have the cart start on the home page without losing the informational part of the site. I am especially concerned about the look of the home page & whether it will 'grab" the attention of the potential buyer. I know I need to work on getting backlinks, SE optimization & clean up the code. I'm in a very competitive field (custom embroidery & screen printing) so I don't know if it's possible to get a good rank without lots of backlinks although I might be able to do well locally. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Jen, This is interesting, I'd be interested to hear other views too. I don't think your banner is vivid enough, at 1280 x 1024 my ever seemed to be drawn to just below the grey navigation far initially. I resized to 1024x768 and noticed the same, but at 800x600 I think I noticed the banner first.

I noticed that I see different banner saturation levels depending on the browser/resolution. Maybe I need to boost saturation levels? I am definitely "drawn into" web pages where a vibrant, full page graphic occupies the page but I wonder if a graphic can be too overbearing if content text is also on that page. Then again, if the banner doesn't capture the viewer's attention & he clicks to another site then the text is lost anyway. (Sorry if this isn't in the correct forum. I didn't know what to do since it is a response).
