accessman -> VB6 Exe file (1/18/2007 21:00:33)

Hi,

If the company doesn't have VB6 tools, I have it myself on my home computer, I try to generate the exe. file at home, and then bring it back to company and then run it, it works well. Every employee can use it and run.

But, if the employees use it and run it, actually, do we need the license to run VB6 exe file in the company?
I just want to know, because I don't want to commit the rule.

Please let me know, thanks.

IIRC distribution of runtime stuff is dependent on your license agreement. Many 'lite' type or non-Pro versions generally have restrictions on distribution of runtime stuff.

What exactly do you have on your home computer to generate that .exe? It would be dependent on that license agreement.

I install VS 6 Pro.
So, is it okay? So, if I generate exe file, then it will not have restriction, right.

I want to know that if lite or non-Pro version generate exe file, there is restriction rule, what error come out if generate exe file by non-pro?

Thanks.

As I stated, it will be listed in the licensing agreement. I do not have that version of VS (I have the .NET version) bit it will be in the license agreement. That is one product that seemed to change a lot.

I suspect a fully contained .EXE would be fine. To be sure, I'd check the MS site for your version. A good place to start would be here:
