PORT 21 - 1/23/2007 7:01:51
I have been uploading my web site with Front Page 2003 for ages but now I am unable to. After a short time, the upload times out and I get the attached error message. Please can someone help. Thanks.

I get the attached error message I don't see any attachments. However, do you have a personal firewall or some other firewall on your network that is blocking that port?

I use Zone Alarm - could that be the problem? The attachment didn't attach. The error message is something like: Could not find web server at (name of web server) on Port 21. Please check to make sure that the web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly. I feel this has started since I changed my broadband connection from one type of BT modem to another type of BT hub - could this be the cause and, if so, how do I resolve it.

Is that new device also a router? That would probably be the place I'd start looking. Most routers like that have a web interface and they are usually at an address like: http://192.168.1.1 at least most 'home' routers I deal with come that way by default. Hope it helps.

The first one was a modem, the new one is a wireless hub which is connected with USB and is not used wirelessly. Where do I look? I am not very technical? As I said earlier I think, I can upload a small amout of my web site before I get the port 21 message. Also, sometimes I cannot even upload one page. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
