sdaven -> edit button missing from browser (1/24/2007 20:12:16)

My computer recently crashed but I managed to recover Frontpage. The only thing that is missing is the "edit with Frontpage" button in my browser. I tried the repair feature with Frontpage but it wants a disk, and I don't have it because it was included with the XP upgrade. Any suggestions?

Have you checked your IE menu under "Tools:Internet Options:Programs"? There should be an option there for an HTML editor and FP *should* be an option for you.

Hope it helps.

Thanks, but I tried that. Frontpage is not an option.

Don't you still have the upgrade? If so repair FP and then point it at that when it asks for the disk.

If not then it's a case of bite the bullet and buy a copy, you can get some cheap on Ebay now EW is out. Just make sure you get a pukka version.

Ummm, The XP upgrade CD never included FrontPage. Where was your upgrade CD aquired from?

In 2004 I had XP Pro installed on my computer I thought the newer version of Frontpage just came with the new software. Maybe they installed it seperately? I do have my original old version of Frontpage on CD but I don't want to screw up what I have now.

No version of Windows ever came with any version of FrontPage (except the freebie FP Express). If you never paid for it or don't have a COA for it, it may be a bootleg copy.
