not sure why you'd want the extra div in there just for the arrow when you can have it on the link as a background image? Just mess with the widths and display:block till you get the correct effect.

Thanks Tail, I'm actually looking for a less intrusive right arrow icon at the moment but will attempt what you've suggested when i find one.

I've managed to close that gap between the drop-downs and the fly-outs, and I've also managed to reduce the rollover to the same width exactly as the drop downs themselves, but this has meant that the main menu items now move sideways a bit when initially hovered over. I've uploaded these changes so you can see what I mean.

The rollover effect now has a width of 12.9em rather than the 13em that saw it overhang the drop down by 0.1. But this means that the main menu items when hovered over are changing from a width of 10em to a width of 12.9em. I can't see from my list of styles that inherit that this should be happening though. Changing the two prior instances of the 10em width also seems to have no effect, yet I do like the drop down being wider than the main menu items though as often the drop-downs will have longer menu titles.
