Ok so the issue is that Expressions is making it hard for you rather than CSS itself making it difficult?

Maybe it is just expressions but as its my chosen package I dont have a choice.

All I can tell you is that if I use float right and float left to get everything positioned nicely it then does something different in ie and ffox, usually too high or too low or way off the edge of the container, and after endless tweaking and testing with all the new css positioning commands presented to me I still have to revert to a good old fashioned table to get what I want.

I think this may be down to css not working in a wysiwyg the way tables do ?

Take one of the ew templates and open it up in wysiwyg mode, you will notice the image is on the left and under the text, but open it up in a browser and the image jumps across to the right, even though its still not aligned properly.

If this is how you have to work with css then I doubt I will ever use it fully because each website will involve far more 'previewing time' than the table route.

I doubt any of that made sense but would like to ask this:

Can any of you open up an unmodified, untouched ew template and have it view correctly in the browser ?

Yes, I did it with the beta version. I'll have a play in the morning as I'm on the Mac now.

I just opened the Organisation 1 template in Firefox, Opera, IE7 and IE6 and it's identical in all of them.

Thanks Jay,

Its not identical in mine !:)

In IE7 it looks fine, in ffox (2.0.0.1) the height of content box is either too high or too low with a difference anywhere between 10 - 40 px. and its different on different pages which makes it even worse.

This is exactly why ive been pulling my hair out and banging my head against that little wall. Ive just visited the famous zengarden css website and have the same issue from the top.

The best way to describe it is that firefox has a whole bag of padding which it tips on css websites for a laugh, whenever its bored.

Any suggestions anyone ? Is my firefox corrupted ?

Fixed it :)

Margins did the trick, thanks to everyone who put up with me on this thread.
I now have no tables, w3c valid and 100% identical viewing in ie7 and fox2.

Cheers
