ASP Drop down with a link... - 2/16/2007 9:11:34
Okay, I think this is the place for this question (if not feel free to move to the right area).

I have a database results form that returns 2 fields from a table, one is a date that is shown to the user in a drop down box. The second field returned is a text field (which is actually a link pointing to another page on the site).

What I want to be able to do is have the user select the date they want, hit submit and have the new page open in a new window.

Currently what happens is a new page opens but instead of opening the page I want it is returning the following:

http://www.muggers.ca/mainpage/Form1?pics=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.muggers.ca%2F2006W%2Fgdp%2F070212.html&B1=Submit

What I am trying to do is point the user to http://www.muggers.ca/2006W/gdp/070212.html.

You can see the page at http://www.muggers.ca/mainpage/mp_gdp.asp.

I am not very experienced at web development (obviously), so most of the stuff I do is by the seat of my pants... please be gentle.

Any info on this is much appreciated.

Try changing the action to the URL you are posting to and set a method="post" for the <form> tag
Generally I wouldnt use a new window if possible
