mtfm -> Question on Word security issues (2/16/2007 12:41:55)

I have a legal form which has been through an unknown number of revisions by an unknown number of people throughout the company. It is currently in Word and is often emailed to customers. With all the security issues Word has had recently, I am looking at changing the file format into something else. I found that word can save it as TIFF, does anyone know if that has the same security issues? I am also looking at PDF, but don't have access to a PDF converter, and it would be that much harder of a sell to upper management if actual cost is involved.

So what I'm asking is for suggestions on the 'best' file format to use for such a form. Being able to fill it out by typing rather than hand-writing things in is a bonus, but so is free. Abvove all, security is paramount as is the widespread acceptance of file type.

thanks in advance!
Andrew

PRIMO
is a brilliant free pdf writer, you just install it as a printer then print your word file as a pdf file

PDFs are defintely the way to go.

There are several free options including Donkey's one and Open Office Suite which is a free open source version of Office. It's word processor has a "save as PDF" option.
