Upload photo failure prompt? - 2/20/2007 15:53:57
Hi! I have created a website for a contest where the person entering needs to upload a photo. Is there any way in FP to have a prompt appear if the photo filename contains characters such as spaces or brackets or other things that the program does not read? My site page can be found at www.youlookmarvelousmom.com/Rules,%20Entry%20Form.htm

Dear AbbyCookie:

I think it would be much better to alter your system to allow the viewer to include what ever character they want within reason - I found it annoying when I was not permited to use characters that are in every day use.

I don't know about your system but I have a file containing a form which contains the following code:

alert("Please enter only letter, digit, whitespace and \",.'?!\" characters in the \"Message\" field.");
theForm.TextArea1.focus();
return false;

If I want to allow the viewer to include additional characters I have only to include them in the line following the word "only".

Cheers

Jack

Thank you very much for the code. Now, where exactly should I place that code on the page? I work in FP and go into the code often, but am never sure where is the right location to add something like that. And do I copy your text exactly? Thanks for your response. Jayne
