My day of research has helped much -- but I still don't understand the entire picture. However, many of the "pieces of the puzzle" answers have come from your excellent forums! My scenario: I work from my home office on Windows XP. I want to use Front Page 2003 on my computer to create, edit and publish to an Intranet site. The client had me install VPN Client on my computer in order to access a computer at their company and to evaluate the existing site. The computer also hosts (is?) a 2003 v. 6 Windows server. There is no FP software on that computer. I do have a user name and password. I read that I will need to have admin privileges in order to publish to that server and the company must enable remote connections (presumably they already have since I can access through VPN Client). My questions are: 1. Do I also need to modify my host file and add their site's ip address and name? 2. The client created a new one-page site within a folder (I believe) of the default site -- is that correct? 3. Once all systems are go, will I be able to import the existing one-page site into my FP and continue on? Or is there any reason not to create and upload the entire site from my computer? 4. Is there any wisdom in installing Front Page on the client's computer and working at that location? Am I getting "warm?" Thanks so much for all the hours and hours many of you spend answering questions. Mary M.
