WantToLearn -> EW & IIS 7 Problem (2/28/2007 15:26:17)

Does anyone know if Expression Web can be made to work with IIS 7? For example, with FP2003 and IIS6, I can open a website by clicking "File" > "Open Site" and then typing "http://localhost/mysite". When I attempt this with EW on Vista, I just get the message "Method Not Allowed". Same thing for creating a new site.

I understand IIS 7 is radically different from previous versions and that IIS 7 supposedly does not have FrontPage server extensions but Visual Studio 2005 seems to be using them just fine to open and create websites using HTTP.

What am I missing?

Much thanks in advance.

Are you doing anything special with EW? Or is it plain html/css?

Have you tried accessing the site via IE @ http://localhost/mysite ? Does the same message come up?

It's just plain html/css and it comes up fine when accessed via a web browser @ http://localhost/mysite

Does it say Error 405 at all?

Here might be a related kb article: You may receive an error message after you install FrontPage Server Extensions on a Web site

What's the file extension of your index/home page? Have you tried to open a specific file on your localhost, as opposed to ?

Since EW is based a lot of of FP03, it might have some of the same bugs that FP had.
