susanf -> Particular site alone is not working (3/5/2007 1:24:09)

Hi

We use linkpointcentral.com for our official purpose for the past 3 years.

But from lastweek, the site is not working for us. We get 404 error message, "Page cannot be displayed".

We use Windows 2000 with SP4 and IE6. This configuration and all is same from the last 1 year and we didnt change anything in our system configuration. We use dynamic IP only in our office.

We tried to open the site from outside our office...the site is working fine outside. We contacted our ISP also, but they say, there is no mistake at their end and the site would probabily blocked the IP.

We tried restarting our system also, but it didnt work out.

Can anybody please help me? Or if this is not the place to discuss about this issue, can anybody tell me where I can get answer for this?

Thanks
Susan

Hello Susan.

Temporary Internet files stored on your computer may be conflicting with files stored on the Internet.

Open IE and select tools followed by Internet Options. On the General tab click 'Delete Cookies' and then click ok. Click 'Delete files'. Place a check mark against 'Delete all off-line content' and then click ok.

Try accessing the site again.

Just for grins - make sure you type in https://www in front of it. Also make sure that you have you IE patched and up to date to make sure that it can handle 128 bit encryption.

Also can you ping www.linkpointcentral.com?

susanf -> RE: Particular site alone is not working (3/5/2007 7:46:53)

No, Iam not able to ping to the site. It says "Request timed out".

Any suggestions again ?

They actually just have pinging blocked on that site now that I am waking up more and remembering. Can you do a tracert - it will probably error towards the end because they have that blocked as well, but it could help a little more. Also what about just the IP: 216.66.211.226

susanf -> RE: Particular site alone is not working (3/5/2007 8:48:50)

yes, i tried tracert. The result is

Tracing route to www.denver.linkpointcentral.com [216.66.211.226]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

Below this, the trace starts with
1. our gateway,
2. then to our ISP,
3. again our ISP,
4,5,6,7 - unique IP's
8,9,10 - unique ATT IP3
11 - some IP
from 12 - till 30 - Request timed out.

Trace complete.

What do we understand from this ?

That is about what I got. They block a lot of this type of traffic for security reasons? Also what about just the IP: 216.66.211.226 in the browser?

susanf -> RE: Particular site alone is not working (3/6/2007 1:01:34)

Thanks Bryant, for your co-oparation for my issue.

Our ISP has fixed the problem and from today, the site is working fine.

Thanks again. :)
