hzarabet -> Please "try" new upload section (3/5/2007 15:52:18)

Hi all:

I just finished (?) building a new section to my site where promoters can upload photos of their shows. Before I let it loose on the world, would you mind trying to upload a few photos and LMK how it worked, errors, problems, etc? I also need to add a "PAGE LOADING" page but am having trouble with that! I will start a separate post for that.

Here is the link: http://www.SigningsHotline.com/ShowGallery and the login is

Thanks for your help!

Tried to upload 3 images but only one seems to have gotten through. That "upload more than one" thing doesn't seem to work (or the instructions weren't clear enough for me [&o])
Can you put multiple "browse" boxes on there so the visitor can tell they have them ready to upload?

I haven't experienced that problem trying mulitple uploads, but that is a good idea setting 5 or 6 boxes max.

Thank you for checking it out.

I took your advice and made it 5 preset fields. Thanks again.

Except that the multiple boxes don't show up in Firefox (works in IE).
Probably the same reason I had trouble with uploading multiple images.[&:]

Urhhh!!! Would you know if it is this particular JavaScript or upload script?

OK, AFAIK Firefox is intelligent as opposed to IE being a bit thick. This can have advantages and disadvantages. In this case it's a disadvantage.

Effectively you have 5 identical scripts following one after another. IE just sticks them on the page, Firefox says, already done that one. I had a similar problem with animated gifs that ran a sequence then stopped. If I had more than one instance of the same one on a site, IE just kept running it, FF wouldn't as it had already run it once.

I think you'll need to have each of the 5 scripts named differently before FF will do anything with them.

I changed the form script to a basic HTML script. I tried it on FF and it appears fine now.

Yes it is though I did have to go through it a couple of times to get it right...[8D][&:]

What problems/errors did you experience?

Mike54 -> RE: Please "try" new upload section (3/6/2007 10:08:10)

It really wasn't so bad. [;)] The only real confusion was the expectation on my part that after adding a description to the first image I could do so to the second without submitting. It was ok though as after it took the first it set me up for the second.
Having done it once now I think I might be able to do it again without messing it up.[8|][8D]

I can live with that!

I checked out farslowphotos. Beautiful photos! And the look of the gallery is great. I am in New Milford. I spent some very relaxing afternoons at Kent Falls!
