"Newsletter" email list signup with Access & FP - 3/21/2007 11:00:46
Hi,
I've read through other posts on the forum that kind of do what I want to do, but a lot for what I've seen is more advanced I think than what I need...
What I want to do is:
a)Create a form where users can submit their email address to be added to a database
b)On the form itself, I would like a second "verify email address" box where users would type their email a second time; the page would compare the two and either accept the submission and post to the database, or tell the user about their typo and to try again
c)I would also like the page to have an "unsubscribe" option where the user could enter their email address and hit "unsubscribe" to have themselves removed from the database. OR... If there is a better/easier way to handle this, like sending emails with an "unsubscribe" link in them, that would be fine too
d)I'd need to be able to gather the email addresses from the database in order to send out a periodic newsletter to subscribers.
I'm not going to ask anyone to write all this for me, but can anyone point me either to a tutorial on how to do what I want to do, and/or some examples? I'm using FP 2002 and Access 2003; I don't have SQL server (using "regular" Windows server), and I'm still quite the newbie when it comes to ASP.

Whoops, never mind--I just figured out that there is a whole industry dedicated to this question, and I've found some free ASP scripts and stuff. Thanks though. (feel free to delete this thread)
