Reflect -> Versions (3/23/2007 7:29:56)

Hi,

I was poking around a few retail store sites today getting ready to by EW.

The best I found so far was the upgrade (In terms of pricing) @ $99 US.

Question: Does it just prompt for the FP CD to verify the upgrade status or do you need FP installed?

Also is there a less expensive version out there that is avaiable in the US?

Thanks,

Brian

Found the answer to the upgrade verification...

"Upgrade eligibility: Microsoft FrontPage installed"

No biggie I guess. am building a new PC and wanted to keep it as clean as possible. This is one thing I wanted to avoid.

Bummer....[:'(].

Take care,

Brian

Look in the sidebar to the left of this post, according to that you can get it for 79.88. [;)]

Install FP, Install EW, kill FP unless you want to keep it on there for sentimental reasons (me I jumped up and down on it and hung the flags out)

Then get yourself a copy of jv16 power tools and run it through to clean up any nasties FP left hanging around in the registry as well as any orphan files.

Run EW to make sure it's a happy bunny. You could even do a defrag to tidy up your nice new hard drive. (I use O&O defrag which actually does a defrag rather than just shift a couple of files around like the XP version)

Love that util, been using ti for a while.

I will have to check out JV16, never heard of that one but no surprise here.

That left hand ad is now unblocked and I see what you are referring to.

Take care,

Brian
