Add filetypes + custom syntax highlighting - 3/23/2007 19:01:13
I want to use dreamweaver to edit additional file extensions, however, also use syntax highlighting for these additional extensions. I've added the extension under the Preferences > File Type area. Is there a way to also have this use html or php syntax highlighting? Is there a way I can edit the expressions used to figure out what to highlight? Basically, edit the logic behind finding what the tags are that can be highlighted.

The only way I know of to edit the coloring scheme is Preferences/Code Coloring. Choose your code type and Edit color scheme. I'm guessing this is what you are looking for. I'm not sure if an additional style type will show up in the list for code color editing.

That's part of it, but how do I have the color coding work for a file extension that DW doesn't normally highlight?

Unless it shows up in the document type window under color coding I don't think you can.
