Ah not necessarily! Certainly some bits would be suitable for a table (tables for ease of listing items, prices etc and for summary of items in the cart) but I don't think they're necessary elsewhere such as the search box or other forms or the acutal item page.

Well I know this thread's quite elderly now, but as once again I'm in need of an accessible shopping cart (the source of my initial query on this thread never did quite come off - the client's still not committed to the site *rolls eyes*)...so, would I be correct in assuming that either Zen or CubeCart are still my best bet? I seem to remember that though Jaybee recommended Trading Eye, someone (Tail?) a while back warned me that there was a bit of a problem with it (not that I can remember what the problem was though! [:D])

Jergan, are you using Magento? Very hard to tell how much they want for that package.

I am not using it and as far as I know its free. I played around locally (wamp) and it sure looked and worked great. I wanted to use it but it needs to use some server side settings which my ISP wouldn't do. I am not using any shopping cart anymore for my business for a while. So not to sure how magento is these days. I sure liked it when I first played around with it.....

edit: My server would not want to install the PDO_MySQL extension which is needed.

Far as I can see Cubecart's still the best option for a reasonable sum of money.

It's reasonably easy to template and you can strip out the unecessary stuff and add labels etc to aid accessbility. It's table-less now. The cart page is an issue for me - I've just finished one and the cart page has a table which is a pig to remove (it's got show/hide elements in it so it's hard to know which bits to strip out). I still need to go back to it and add some more bits to help navigate that specific table. Otherwise it's fine.

Haven't used Zen Cart but I understand that it's basically OS commerce. It's meant to be ok to template but I don't use it as I prefer the more up to date CubeCart 4.

Magneto is meant to be very "big" and quite slow. It's also meant to be a pig to template at the moment. I've heard from a lot of people who say that it's not actually yet to be considered "ready". People tend to fall for it because it looks very modern and 2.0 and has a lot of features. They generally suggest that you use a host that it optimised for it (which is a worry!).
