Disappearing Link Bars - 4/10/2007 23:06:20
Hi,

I just uploaded a new home page, and discovered that the link bars on the home page are missing.

http://www.srbcnc.org

Other pages in the site are OK (still have the link bars).

http://www.srbcnc.org/Meetings.htm

The above is online - on my computer based site (in FP) all of the link bars are gone on every page. I am afraid to upload any new changes for fear of losing more link bars.

I create new pages by copying an existing page, editing content and dragging the page into the Navigation pane and activating the Link Bars.

I can't figure out what I did. Help!

I suspect the link bars ran away in horror when they saw those unreadable things falling down the page. Why on earth...... you can't read them, all they do is get in the way of what you do want to read.

Remove the snow effect, recalculate your hyperlinks then republish that page. It may be due to conflicts with the two scripts.

Besides recalculating hyperlinks and republishing (you did publish the page didn't you?) double check and make sure the index page is still in the nav structure.

My problem is that I don't understand the workings of the link bars and the nav pane. I was reluctant to publish, afraid that if I did, all of the abnormal pages in my computer would be transferred to the web site.

What I finally did was to upload the old index.htm page (by FTP) and the link bars miraculously appeared plus a bunch more that weren't supposed to be there. I then marked those pages in the nav pane to not appear in the link bars.

Thanks for your help, you are my only source of help when FP gets the best of me.
