DebSpecs -> External hard drive vs. shared data base drive (4/19/2007 11:47:12)

I have a USB external hard drive that connects shows up on the F drive when i view "My Computer". Problem is, my computer uses the F drive to connect to the office network database. So I have to choose- access the office database OR access my external hard drive.

Is there any way I can re-assign the computer drive that my external hard drive uses?

Or, is there a better way?

Start > Administrative Tools>

Under Storage choose Disk Management

In the right hand box click your drive, right click and select

change drive letter and paths.

Remember that any shortcuts or other links to the files on there will no longer work as they won't find the drive letter.
