levins -> 550 W3SVC1736805699: access is denied (4/19/2007 15:41:02)
I am having trouble publishing a site. I've tried publishing the site both ways; http and ftp.
Http - says frontpage extensions may not be installed. Ftp - I receive this error message: microsoft frontpage 550 W3SVC1736805699: access is denied
I contacted the client's host company and they were not helpful. The host company told me frontpage extensions were installed today. I double checked the username and password.
The host company is having me publish the site to www2.domainname.com because the old site is on a linux server. They are putting the new site on a different server so we thought it would be better to keep up the old site until the new site propagates to the new server.
What else could prevent me from publishing the site?

Chances are it is a FPSE issue. FTP can corrupt FPSE.
If they say FP is installed, ask them to connect to the site using FP. It could be the FPSE need to be checked because they are corrupted.
If the _vti_cnf folder(s) were copied over to the new server, they need to be deleted. These need to be (re)-created by FP / FPSE and not just copied via FTP / SSH,etc
