I love Picasa, use it occasionally and often recommend it to others. It's free, great for basic photo editing and organizing , so why not download it! But imho Picasa is not suitable for other types of graphics that may be needed when developing a website. For example, it does not offer layering useful for things such as adding text over a jpg or gif. PaintShop Pro is a very good program, as is Photoshop Elements. Both have much more sophisticated image editing and manipulation tools. I'd recommend Elements for someone who may want to eventually buy Photoshop, The Gold Standard in image editing. Elements gives you a good feel for Photoshop and has some of Photoshops outstanding editing tools. gail
