organising files in folders - 4/30/2007 12:04:15
Hi,

I've made my website, and in my HTML folder i have loads of images, .html files etc. Is there a way that i can separate everything into different folders?. to tidy my main html folder up

for example

.jpeg images into a - img_folder?
.swf animation into a - flash_folder?
.html website into a - web_folder?

If i seperate all these images would the website still work, or would i need to keep them as they are, all items mixed together in one html folder?

Any help would great. :)

No you can set up folders using the folder view bar on the left, then move the things into them. If you do it all within FP then the links should change automatically. Take a full backup of the site first though just in case.

Normally you go with folders called:

images
scripts
movies

The html is more complicated. Normally you leave all your top level pages in the root. You can then have folders for sub levels. Don't move the main pages to a folder. When you type the domain the browser looks for an index page in the root, it won't hunt round the host to find one elsewhere.
