How to import - 5/9/2007 9:37:20
We just bought MS Expressions. We used FP200 until now. Can we import our old website into MSExp? If so howe? Or must we start from scratch? So far I can't find the solution.

Hmm, I've imported all of my sites from FP to Expression. What I've done is selected "open site" from the drop down, then navigate to the folder and click open. It then appeared in the left pane. Then, I right clicked the folder and said convert to web. Afterwards, it was good to go. But, maybe there are better ways?

If it is a FP web, you should be able to go to File - Open web.

No it should not matter if there is no CSS.

Are you trying to open a (Frontpage) web or a file?

My Expression never recognized my FP folders as webs, that's why I went about it the way I did. Good to hear it was _supposed_ to though!:)

Can I ask what you did to open a Frontpage designed website?

Yes, I am trying to open a Frontpage designed page. But MSE wont recognise it.

Locally, if your folder has a globe on it, Expression Web should just open it - File - Open web

On the server, type in http://www.example.com and it should open the site on the server

For whatever reason, some of mine didn't have the globe as a folder icon (I don't recall which ones or why) but what I ended up doing on these was right clicking on the folder and selecting "convert to web", then all was well.
