MS AccessS: Comparing data - 5/9/2007 15:22:05
Hi, I have a big table called "Identification" that holds a ton of people's names. The Identification table amongst other fields contains ID, First Name, and Last Name. I have another table that is called "Salutation". In the salutation table and the salutation field, a record could say "Ms. Kempen", "Mr. and Mrs. Kempen", "Mrs. Kimberly A. Kempen", or the last name may different all together. The salutation also has ID as a field and can be linked to the Identification table. I would like to create a query that shows me all the records where the last name from "Identification" table does not match the last name of the "Salutatiion" table. The "Identificatiion is more accurate, so if they differ, I need to know which records are different so that we can research and fix the salutation table. I hope I am clear enough. Thanks,

Have you tried using the "Find Unmatched Query Wizard"?
