Synchronize USB Drive - 5/18/2007 11:43:49
I've recently been using a USB stick with PortableApps installed. It is very very handy, as I am currently in many different homes and offices with access to their computer.

So my question is, "Do you have any suggestions on synchronization software that I could use - that launches and sync's when the drive is inserted into my home PC? If the software could be installed on multiple PC's, such as home and work, then that would be even better. Freeware would also be nice.

I'm basically looking for something like ActiveSync that will work for a USB drive.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Andrew

Microsoft do a great application called SyncToy www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/prophoto/synctoy.mspx that should do the trick. What I did was also download the TweakUI PowerToy and create a new AutoPlay option that could be run on insert.

Good luck,

Sorry so slow to get back to you on this suggestion Mark. I just started a new position, so I've been a bit swamped.

The sync toy works just great. I'm also using it with scheduler to run some other backups on startup.

Very nice.

Thanks,
Andrew
