You want to go to Open Web and then type in the address. You don't want to make a new web, you want to open one that is already created.

Ok thats where my problem started when I installed it on this new computer each time I go to access the webs it says I am having a memory problem - which I know I dont have because its a brand new computer and my processes are saying I have enough - but whats wierd is the folder its trying to pull the information from the "my webs" folder and i dont see one of those on this vista os - I love frontpage though its so simple - is there another html editor like frontpage? Im wondering if its just a flaw in frontpage Im just not sure what could make this happen.

Well Expression Web took the place of Frontpage (somewhat). You lose a lot of the FP components that relied on FPSE unfortunately. And there have been a few issues that have come up with FP 2003 and Vista, I would imagine some other problems with FP 2000

If it is trying to open My Webs folder, can you create a new sub-web in the My Webs Folder and publish your information from the server to your local computer? It sounds like a (Frontpage) web might need to be set up

If I purchased FP 2003 would I be able to use it with Vista do u think? One thing that I loved about FP that I miss since I cant use it is as soon as I made a page in frontpage and saved it it would be uploaded to my website instead of doing the ftp thing - is this non existant now with the new web html editors that exist? I dont mind paying for one as long as its similar to fp - I downloaded a trial for dreamweaver and cant figure it out so I gave up.

That was a FPSE option, something that is somewhat going away it seems since FPSE are no longer being supported. If you could upgrade to FP 2003 I would recommend it. I cannot remember when FP 2003 was not going to be offered any longer.

DW uses FTP from what I can remember. Expression web can use the http or FTP.

All of my FrontPage 2003 web sites are working well with no issues Windows Vista. You may want to visit the sites in Internet Explorer and choose Edit with Microsoft Office FrontPage from the File drop down menu, and Publish the site to your hard drive folders. Have your Username and password handy.

is it only frontpage that you can modify and make new pages right from the program and it shows up online right away without uploading from ftp or some other place?

Yes you can do that but don't do it. You should make/modify your website/pages on your computer first. Then publish (if you have FP) or FTP if you don't have FP.

That way you will have a backup on your home computer if somthing goes wrong on the server.

Check on Amazon or Best Buy. I can't remember if it was May or June that is the last time Frontpage 2003 will be offered. It might even be July, but don't waste any time if you are considered upgrading to FP 2003.
