Looking for a script - 11/17/2001 21:33:00
Does anyone know where I can find a MouseOver script (DHTML preferred) that displays text in another part of the page? I know this must be common, and I've seen some that come close but most of them are image-type scripts rather than text.
I just haven't seen what I want yet.

Thanks!

Phil

maybe www.dynamicdrive.com ????

doing a show/hide layer behavior in DW doesn't do it?

For others reading this: I know tarheel is a Dreamweaver user, so that will make sense to him.

Hmmm... I'm not familiar with the show-hide layer behavior function.

Lemme check it out.

Thanks!

DynamicDrive.com has lot's of good stuff, but I didn't find anything I liked.

Nancy to the rescue. She showed me that "show-hide layers" function in Dreamweaver I did not know even existed! Guess it pays to read the manual, huh?

Thanks Nancy...

Hi Phil,

Came across your original post while doing a similar search.

Don't know whether you got sorted out for this in Dreamweaver but I found this at http://freespace.virgin.net/sizzling.jalfrezi/dhtml2.htm and it certainly does the job for me.

Tweaked the sample code a bit and got images where they needed to be with text appearing where I wanted it (and I like the guy's approach to payment).

Cheers

I live in my own little world but it's ok, they know me here.

I think what you want is a script I adapted for use on my site at http://www.wansdyke.org.uk/local.htm .If you are good with HTML, why not steal it from my site and adapt it? There is code in the HEAD and BODY.

Look after #1 and don´t step in #2.

Forgot to mention the text can be whereever you want it. It is in <a>..</a> tags so you just paste that code into a cell where you want the text to appear and the images have corresponding properties in the <HEAD> and <BODy>.

Look after #1 and don´t step in #2.

If you use DreamWeaver, do you also use FireWorks for your graphics? I'll tell you, they have a fantastic tutorial and when you slice it all up and tell it what to switch on a mouse-over, you can have it export your html code.

It's super-sweet!

Bluey Zee,

The technique at http://freespace.virgin.net/sizzling.jalfrezi/dhtml2.htm doesn't work in the Opera browser either.

Enjoy! It's your endeavor!
