mpeg2 Decoder Help - 6/8/2007 13:40:47
I need to download a codex and have found many of them out there. Can anyone here recommend one? If its free that would be nice.

Thanks!
Rich

For use with media player? I much prefer using the open source VLC player. Havent struck any codec issues yet!

Thank you Spooky :).

I have been using an elliptical trainer. We rearranged the office/work out room a week ago. The TV was moved to a location that I could not see from the elliptical. I came across this thread and the light bulb went on (Yes I am slooow some days :)). I tried Windows media player but it was missing a codec (What people want money for them?).

Anyway, last night I watched crank while doing the 1 hour ride. It made it go soooo much faster as my mind was entertained. It beat listening to music as each song made me look at the progress bar.

Now if I could find spray on muscles so I can stop lifting weights, they do make that don't they?

Take care,

Brian

I finally got a chance to try it this morning. Worked great! Family 8mm from the early 70s.

Only question I have is how to get the DVD menu to come up (where you choose play movie). I find myself hitting next chapter again and again to get through the previews.

I am sure I am missing a setting somewhere.

Thank you,

Brian

Not too sure - generally when I back up movies, I only retain the movie files to reduce the compression used (and time to wait) when watching a backup disk.

Dual layer baby, forget compression :).

Take care,

Brian
