MS Virtual PC - 6/9/2007 23:38:20
Never mind. Got it.

For some reason, triggering the reboot of the virtual pc with the menu did not work, but triggering the reboot with AltGr + DEL did the trick.

I'm trying to get the new MS Virtual PC Console to work with XP-Pro. Actually, the console seems to work okay and let's me set up virtual drives. It's just that I can't seem to install anything on the virtual drive.

For example, I've created a Win2KPro virtual drive.

I've tried going to the file menu and choosing, "Install or update virtual machine additions". It then shows to be loaded when viewed under the CD menu. But launching the instance only gets me the following:

Argon PXE Boot Agent v2.00 (BIOS Integrated)
(C) Copyright 2004 Argon Technology Corporation
All rights reserved. www.ArgonTechnology.com

(pause a few seconds, then...)
CLIENT MAC ADDR: 00 05 GD 7B E2 ED GUID: yadda-yadda
DHCP....

(this shows for a couple of minutes, then...)
Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device_

I've tried hitting enter as I insert the OS CD. I've tried using OS iso file. And I've tried to get the Virtual Machine Additions installed. I've had zero success with any of the above.

Ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Andrew
