Site not publishing as seen on hard drive - 11/1/2001 13:07:00
After updating our site I proceeded to publish it as usual, however, I got an error message that I needed an author access to publish. I called our hosting company (Valueweb) and was informed by the the tech support agent that I needed to reinstall Frontpage extensions.

He guided me to the page on their control panel where I clicked a button to reinstall FP extensions. Subsequently, the server accepted my usual Username and password, and I was able to publish the updated site.

The problem is that the layout that I see on the web differs from that on my hard drive - the navigation buttons on the web are messed up but the overall content is fine. Does anyone know what the problem is here and more importantly how I can resolve it. Eternally grateful for your assistance.

I might be able to figure out what's up if I could see it.

I've seen some situations in which shared borders are accidentally on on the live site but not the local site. The fix for that is to open the live site and turn them off.

Format > Shared Boders > All pages > uncheck the borders.

Thanks, Tom, I'll see if this solves the problem. But i am not certain problems with shared borders is the culprit here because the pages display fine in edit and preview modes. You can take a look at the web site at projectchange.net. I'll update you tomorrow. Thanks again.

It's not the shared borders thing.

The only guess I have is that maybe the font you're using for your navigation buttons in your theme is not comming through. I notice that some of the words on the nav buttons are too long for the buttons.

If that font is installed on your machine then you should be able to just open your live site > format > theme > modify > graphics > vertical navigation > set the font.

If that font is not on your machine, then you have to pick one that is or get that font.

Please review www.theleoagency.com/leo.htm
