fhce -> Publishing Problems (6/13/2007 10:42:51)

I have recently started working for a new company, and I have been put in charge of updating their website. So I download the existing website to my machine, make the appropriate changes, and then I try to publish. Then the problem comes. Whenever I try to publish, an error message pops up saying my access is denied. Even though I have the username and password to access the website, I do not have the ability to publish my changes.

Can someone help me?

Did you actually open the web site in FP and properly "publish" it down to your local drive?

Yes I did, that is why I am having so much trouble.

That may also be an indication of corrupted Frontpage Extensions on the server.

Have you tried to see if you can look at your web by using a FTP program? Don't do anything, just look or you may mess up the extensions. If you can see your web site by using a FTP program and still not able to publish then I would suspect the extensions are broken.

I had that problem with one of my hosts last year. I had to call them and they said they were responsible for that problem and had it fixed in short order. It was not an extension problem but was a host server problem.

So...if you are unable to see your site by FTP, try calling your host.
