Learning CSS - 6/17/2007 9:46:37
I have applied a css style to my site on my local machine using dreamweaver. When i apply the style in the application (dw) the style doesnt show up however when i preview it any browser eg ff or IE its fine, anyone have any idea why?

Are you using an external stylesheet as opposed to inline styles or styles in each page head (external is best)? I wouldn't trust any WYSIWYG editor's preview - I'd suggest always a proper browser to check stuff.

I created a stylesheet in dreamweaver and was told to create a folder called css and put all the css styles in there.

Dominic - I'm not sure where you're learning your CSS from, but some sources are better than others. I thought I'd pass this tutorial site on : http://www.cssbasics.com/ as it's very simple and easy to follow. My opinion is that it's best to start out as manual as possible when trying to get to grips with this - WYSIWYGs have a habit of stuffing things in to stylesheets and markup that you weren't aware of which can end up being confusing.
