Page Reports - 6/19/2007 8:55:11
I hate even asking this but here goes: I am required to use the reports in FrontPage to correct for bad links and unlinked pages in my webs. The problem I'm having is that if the path to the main page has an ASP page some where in it, the document seesm to be showing up as unlinked. Is there any way to change that. I have 810 unlink documents buit the first thirty or so I've looked at were linked. Any thoughts?

I don't get funny until after my 3rd cup of coffee. I was trying to be helpful.

Link Tiger was recommended by Jaybee of this forum about a year ago and has been most helpful to me in site maintenance since.

If you don't like it here, go elsewhere.

AFAIK, you're hosed. It was designed for a simpler time and for the hobbyist. At the time it came out only the real high-powered professionals had anything to do with asp, so it has limited support. It's good at a lot of things, but it doesn't play well with certain languages.

For instance frontpage also doesn't recognize links in Javascript files (ie using the document.write command) either.

Linktiger seems to be a good option from what I understand, unless your entire site is an intraweb behind a firewall like mine is. Then you just have to work around it.

One other thing-- the people here are extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable, I have learned a lot from them.... but ,most don't respond well to sarcasm or cynicism. Just something to keep in mind for future issues which may arise.
