Adding mulitple users and PWs to NT child webs - 11/8/2001 20:46:00
I wanted to add multiple user ids and passwords to a subweb on my NT account. My web hosting company won't do it. I've read that it can be done by updating the access control list. Is my web hosting company just being lazy?

They may be lazy. But they do have go in and add accounts which takes time.Did they have limits?

I am having the same problem, however, i thought it was a problem i had with Front page. Everytime i add users to the subweb nothing happens and only i can access them.
What is the point of me designing a web site and publishing it if i am the only one who can veiw it.
I have posted nearly the same question in the intermidiate forum and the replies haven't helped so far.
I am sure with all the experience on this site someone must know the answer.

Well, its easily done in unix. You just go into the server permissions and add users. NT accounts in frontpage prompt me for a list thats named after the particular server that my sites hosted on. When I ask my provider to add names to the list they say they don't support that and I should write an asp security script instead. I now have the asp script, but I think its crappy that they won't do it. Does anyone know of a web hosting company that will add multiple users and passwords to an nt site?
