how to do "shared borders" equivalent? - 6/21/2007 13:58:14
I was a frontpage user and just upgraded to expression web 1.0. How do I do the equivalent of "shared borders" as I used to do in Frontpage?

I use FP Includes instead of shared borders in FP2003 and WantToLearn has produced a macro that enables this feature in Expressions.

This is the relevant thread: Macro for Includes in EW
The thread makes a good read too. :)

In addition to includes, you should also check out Master Pages and Dynamic Web Templates (DWT).

quote:

Master Pages and Dynamic Web Templates
Both master pages and Dynamic Web Templates allow you to create a consistent layout that can easily be updated in all the pages in your site. If you are working with ASP.NET files, use master pages to define a consistent look with shared content across pages. If you are working with HTML files, use Dynamic Web Templates.

To learn more, just search for "Master Pages" and "Dynamic Web Templates" in Expression Web Help.
