delldimension8100 -> Unable to log on via Frontpage (7/2/2007 6:27:31)

Hello.

Regarding: www.encoderonline.com

I've been logging on the same way for three years now in Frontpage.

Since last week, I am unable to log onto the site via Frontpage. Usernames and passwords are saved as most Windows passwords are. So all I do is click Open Site and choose my site and click OK when the window comes up prompting for username / password (already filled in).

What happens is the usual 'username / password' window comes up, and I click OK. It processes and the window comes up over and over and over. Without ever logging on, no matter how often I click OK.

I've contacted the host server, and they see nothing wrong with it. Even reset username and password.

I've reinstalled Frontpage and even tried a different PC. All to no avail.

Interestingly, I can log onto the other company website. www.instant-analysis.com without a problem.

And, I can access www.encoderonline.com via 'SmartFTP'. But it is annoying to work in.

Any ideas??? The host server place and I have run out of ideas.

Thanks,

Patrick

Try reinstalling your FrontPage Server Extensions.

Thanks jaybee,

I'll ask the host server to resinstall the extensions. However, it is in Canada and we have 'Canada Day' holiday.

I've had someone in another country try to log in and they get the same problem. So it's not a problem with my PC or company internet connection.

Also, when trying to log on via Internet Explorer, it does not prompt for username/password and shows as zero files. I've looked at some other threads here, and have followed those instructions, but it still does not work. That is in both countries.

Cheers, Patrick

If you have cpanel you should be able to reinstall by yourself.
