Please HELP! - 7/4/2007 9:42:01
I have created my Web Site using Frontpage, it works fine when veiwed using Internet Explorer but when veiwed using Firefox it looks totally different. I understand that this is because FP is not standards compliant. So I have purchased Expression Web and have the following questions:

(a) Is there a way to convert my original FP site into a compliant EW one.
(b) Is there anyone who is willing to create an EW Template so I just have to input the photo's and text.

THANKS ......... Richard.

I am not an expert, but I looked at your web page using IE7 and Netscape (Firefox) and the only obvious difference is that the images are very blurred and have background dots all over in Firefox.. Is there a background switch set somewhere?
IE7 is usually more tolerant.. so it may be ignoring something you coded (like an image background)

I just spotted that Firefox shifts all your images down and to the right slightly.. causing the blurring possibly.. Sorry I am not an expert, but the co-ordinates seem to lack firefox tolerance..

There's a fair amount wrong unfortunately - the navigation doesn't work in any browser other than IE.

As you say, it really needs starting from scratch using proper coding techniques - I could be wrong but it looks like some of it was taken from a Word document (which never works well on the web unfortunately!) which is why the images are poor quality.

EW is the best bet for designing your site. With FP you need to know a fair bit of coding to get the page to do what you want.
EW has fixed a lot of problems that FP had.

There is very little if any change over required to get your site into EW. As some of your pages seem to have been created in MS Word. Your best bet is to create a new site in EW then copy and paste your data into each page.

Remember to put the Text you copy onto the code section or it will bring in all the formating as well.

i assume the image quaility is so poor (speckling/dithering) in firefox and other non-IE browsers because you have the images contained within textboxes or other MS drawing objects, which are then rendered as gifs for all non-IE users...
