Paid downloads - 7/5/2007 3:59:25
Hi folks,

It's been a while since I was on here, but when I was in the process of setting up the website, I got loads of helpful advice from this forum, so here I am again ... !

Here's the thing. At the moment, I have a number of music tracks on my website ( www.dellow.info if anyone wants to check it out ) which, thanks to the auspices of various contributors to this forum, I've managed to make non-downloadable. However, if I now want to make these downloadable but on a paid basis - that is, the site visitor would have to pay me a given amount via, say, PayPal before being able to download a particular track - is this do-able, and if so can anyone give me any guidance as to how? I suppose, following logically from this question, the next thing would be how to allow people to pay for multiple tracks at once rather than have to pay for each track one at a time?

If anyone has any ideas on this subject I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in anticipation,

Mark.

Depending on your location and what you will sell the tracks for, you might check micropayments on Paypal's website. Paypal also has a service called Payloadz that might be easier for you to manage the downloads actually.

Selling a number of tracks at once at a cheaper price might save you a little extra money during the transaction fees.

Mark,

Many T&Cs with hosting companies prohibit downloading on a commercial basis so I would urge you to check this out before you find that your domain has mysteriously disappeared.
