Stopping Spammers from filling out forms - 7/9/2007 13:10:55
What is the best way to keep the spambots from filling out forms?

I have a few pages that have Frontpage 2002 forms that customers use to fill out reservations.

Recently spambots have started filling out those forms also.

Thanks
Eric

This is a major flaw in FP, one that Microsoft never even addressed. There is no way to prevent spammers from doing this, and there is very little you can do about it, other than simply using a non-frontpage form.

I did run across a javascript based validation, that appears to work for the most part. Jcap (Captcha Validation Javascript)

Apparently a lot of spammers are using javascript enabled browsers, from what I have heard, this javascript method has actually worked quite well.
