drop-down box problem - 7/16/2007 21:36:50
Hi guys,

I'm puzled by a FP2003 web site that I created and maintain, with drop-down boxes for selecting some pdf documents. I have one drop-down on a page and it opens the pdf documents in a new window, which is what I want it to do. I have added another drop-down in another page and I can't figure out why these pdf documents will not open in a new window. When you close the browser, you are off the site. The code seems to be the same on both pages. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be with the new drop-down field? Thanks for your help!:)

Put a link on the webpage somewhere and when you input the address to link to, hit "target frame" then choose "new window". Finally check the box "set as page default". Save the setting and see if that will affect the drop down menu.

Can you post links to the two pages in question?

Thanks cbarton and BeTheBall! I figured it out with your help. The "set as page default" didn't do it, but I looked at the pdf page properties on the html page that was working properly, and it had a box checked in the pdf document preferences that said "open documents in a new window" (requires closing program to take effect). I did that with the pdf's that weren't working, and they are now working! Thanks again for your help! :)
