But claiming you offer anyone 500 GB per month transfer is like offering cruise to the moon. It is obvious that most web sites can not take advantage of offers like those! I'd steer clear of any hosts offering anything that sounds too good to be true - it most probably is. It's a marketing ploy to dazzle the unwary into parting with their cash. For me I always make an estimation of how much space I'm likely to use and try and make a guestimate of what sort of bandwidth I'm likely to need. Second comes how much they're gonna want if I need more space or bandwidth. One host I used to use charged an arm and a leg for anything over their very small bandwidth allowance. The hosts I use now have a reasonable allowance and have very reasonable charges for excess bandwidth, should I ever need it, and clearly explain the procedures for changing plans should I need to upgrade. My requirements for hosting though are pretty simple - PHP support, MySQL databases, a reasonable number of POP mailboxes and all the usual geeky stuff. I'm not too interested in "easy sitebuilders" and promises of "create your entire site in 5 minutes with no previous experience required" type gimmicks. They might claim to be free, but the cost is included in the package, and I don't pay for things I'm never going to use. So far I've only found one host I'm completely happy with to part with my cash to that offers me the technical requirements I need, and reliability and decent support when I ask for it. _____________________________ ~~ "A cruel god ain't no god at all" ~~ (in reply to maxaon)
