Problem installing OS - 7/20/2007 3:58:00
hi, I recently upgrade my rig to an AMD 4000+ 2.1 ghz + Asus M2NPV-VM + seagate 320gb. i am facing some problems while installing w2k on this system. following is a list: 1. at startup a program named Makedisk starts up and asks to make startup raid disk for windows. how do i disable this program from loading. I have to use f8 to load the boot menu and select the harddrive to boot from it. 2.After the initial phase of installing setup files for w2k, when the system restarts i get an error message stating the system cannot mount the disk. UNMOUNTABLE_DISK_ERROR. 3. i am able to install the OS successfully if i am using an IDE drive only, but not when i connect both of them together or only the sata drive. why?? 4. when both the IDE and sata drives are connected in a system, which one will be the master and slave drives. I see that sata drives do not have any jumper settings for making them master/slave. how does it work? I connect the IDE drive to the primary slot. this mobo has two IDE slots and 1 floppy slot. can somebody help me in getting my system up and running. regards - suni _________________ Flow chart software Sports utility vehicle vote for the аastest Car

You should probably try posting this question on a w2k forum. Goole W2K Forum and see what you find. I'm sure you'll have better luck getting assistance that way.
